The Tax Agency (DGII) has announced that collections for March 2016 totaled RD$29.42 billion, which represents an increase of RD$5.08 billion over the same month last year, a growth of 20.9%.<\/p>\n
Receipts for the first three months of this year now stand at RD$88,044.0 million, a 9.9% increase over last year. <\/p>\n
However, the DGII says that although receipts were around the estimated level for the first trimester of the year, the price of certain basic products in the international market had had a negative effect. <\/p>\n
Of the total sum collected, 76.5% came via the DGII, Customs’ duties contributed 19.3% and 4.2% came from the National Treasury.<\/p>\n
