The Superintendence of Electricity (SIE) through its Consumer Protection Division, has ordered the electricity distributors to accredit the sum of RD$20,510,313 to 757 clients whose claims were deemed valid. <\/p>\n
EdeSur was ordered to accredit RD$16,854,200 to 335 clients: 57 in San Cristobal, seven in Azua, eight in San Juan, seven in Barahona, 18 in Bani, three in Ocoa, one in Elias Pina, one in Pedernales and one in Neiba. <\/p>\n
EdeNorte was ordered to accredit RD$1,730,062,191 clients in Santiago, San Francisco, Mao, La Vega, Puerto Plata, Moca, Nagua, Las Terrenas, Bonao, Salcedo, Cotui, Montecristi and Samana. <\/p>\n
A press release from the SIE also stated that EdeEste was obliged to refund RD$1.9 million to 229 of its clients. <\/p>\n
Consumer Protection Division director Jose Rosario said that 2,728 complaints were filed in April, of which 757 were ruled to be valid.
