\nEaster\u00a0Sunday\u00a0on\u00a016 April. Dominicans book beach resorts,
\nvacation rentals and hotels all over the country with months in
\nadvance.<\/p>\n
Those staying in Santo Domingo can expect to enjoy the city with
\nmuch less traffic. Highlights of the week are the religious-
\ncultural events of the\u00a0Thursday, 13 April\u00a0church walk with large
\ngroups of persons starting at\u00a07pm\u00a0on visits of special
\ndecorations at the many Roman Catholic Churches in the Colonial
\nCity. These remain open until\u00a0midnight. On\u00a0Friday, 14 April, the
\nChoir of the Santo Domingo Cathedral performs a free concert
\nhonoring Jesus Christ starting at\u00a08pm, also in the Colonial
\nCity.<\/p>\n
While Easter Week is a religious event, most Dominicans head to
\nthe vacation spots in party mode, with many orchestras and
\nperformers following the crowds and offering special shows. For
\ninstance, Justin Bieber fever hits the Dominican Republic over
\nthe Easter holidays.\u00a0 Bieber will thrill his \u201cBeliebers\u201d at a
\nperformance on Easter\u00a0Saturday, 15 April 2017, at the Hard Rock
\nPunta Cana Hotel & Casino.\u00a0 Not to be outdone, J-Lo (Jennifer
\nL\u00f3pez) is booked for the same evening at the Altos de Chav\u00f3n
\namphitheater in Casa de Campo, La Romana.<\/p>\n
