Welcome to PLAYA DORADA and its second edition, a new number conceived with the same enthusiasm as the first, and with which we intend to invite you to enjoy the quality and style that Puerto Plata puts at your reach.

Through the pages of PLAYA DORADA we would like to show you the cultural richness of Puerto Plata’s history. On the 12 of January of 1493, Christopher Columbus discovers San Felipe of Puerto Plata and called the mountain, now Loma Isabel de Torres, “Monte de Plata” for the clouds that surround its top makes it appear as silver. In addition to its spectacular beaches of golden sands and crystal waters, Puerto Plata, PLAYA DORADA, proposes a visit to the Fort of San Felipe that dates from century XVI, constructed as defense against the attacks of the pirates, at the present time lodges a museum of legend and all class of objects related to the history of the city; or take a ride up to the hill of Isabel de Torres and enjoy it’s incredible sites; or a stroll at sundown by the Victorian Public Square of Puerto Plata; or let yourself be taken by the little white houses “gingerbread” style adorned with bougainvilleas of different colors.

We hope that the dates, themes, ideas, suggestions and proposals of this new number of PLAYA DORADA add new pleasures to your stay in Playa Dorada.
Enjoy PLAYA DORADA. Happy travels and happy stay.
