A new Philatelic Museum has been opened at the Central Bank. Dominican stamps dating back to 1865 are on display. One issue on show commemorates the 100th anniversary of Dominican stamps. Olivo Alvarez, the curator, said that the stamps make up one of the most beautiful and complete collections in the country. The collection can be seen at the Museo Numismatico at the Central Bank, in Av. Pedro Henríquez Ureña, opposite the bank’s main building. It is open to the public from 8:30 to 3 pm, Monday to Friday, admission free.
