United Airlines applies for permission to fly to Santo Domingo

Last week, the travel journalist Santiago Gómez, writing for the newspaper Hoy, reported that United Airlines of the United States has requested permission to fly the route Miami-Santo Domingo-Curaçao. He said that United was authorized by the U.S. Department of Transportation to fly to the Dominican Republic two years ago. The airline’s request will be studied at the public session scheduled at noon on 23 October at the Civil Aviation Board. It is expected the certificate will be granted, as at this time the Miami-Santo Domingo route is only served by American Airlines.
