Celebrities at the Sosua Bay and Victorian House

Baseball greats David Ortiz, Moises Alou, Pedro Martinez, Jose Lima, Vladimir Guerrero, Ivan Rodriguez, Roberto Alomar, Odalis Perez, Amaury Telemaco, Manny Mota and Juan Marichal (of the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame) are booked to attend the First Celebrities Golf Tournament this coming weekend (3-5 December). The event is sponsored by the Jose Rijo Foundation and Louisville Slugger, a US manufacturer of baseball bats.

The tournament is booked for the Playa Grande Golf Course, 80 kms east of the Puerto Plata International Airport, and about 40 minutes from the town of Sosua where the ballplayers will be staying.

A benefit, contributions made by the players and other participants go to support the little league sponsored by the Jose Rijo Foundation in the Dominican Republic. Some 1,000 children ages 5 to 18 years play in the league. Those interested in participating or contributing to the foundation can contact Brian Mejia at brian.mejia@slugger.com

The famous ball players will be staying at the Starz Resorts Sosua Bay Hotel and Victorian House in Sosua, Puerto Plata on the north coast.
