Electricity for those who pay

The Superintendent of Power, Francisco Mendez said yesterday that city sectors that pay for the service will receive longer hours of power than barrios where most residents are fraudulently hooked into the system. He said that the barrios where few pay for the service would receive on average 10 hours of power a day.

Over the holidays, power distribution companies reduced blackouts to a minimum. But with the holidays over after the Three Kings celebration, blackouts are expected to return.
