4% for education sign

Hamlet Hermann, former director of the Metropolitan Transport Authority, denounced he has been harassed by the Presidential Guard for having painting the front wall of his house that faces the Presidential Palace with the logo of the call for the government to comply with the legal 4% of the GDP for Education. He explained he had a banner in front of his house, but when the winds toppled it, he decided to paint the wall on Calle Moises Garcia. The 4% reminder can be seen from the steps of the Presidential Palace.

As reported in El Caribe, he said that someone who identified himself as Captain Martinez of the Presidential Guard attempted to stop the workers painting the sign.

He said that Martinez said that General Jose Manuel Frias Rodriguez, chief of the Presidential Guard had ordered the whitewashing of the sign.
