Public Health Minister Bautista Rojas Gomez

The Ministry of Public Health has begun a campaign to discourage any kind of stigma and discrimination against persons who may have had cholera. Over the Christmas holidays, Public Health Minister Bautista Rojas Gomez visited the media group with dozens of persons who have had cholera to press the point the disease is not contagious and thus persons who have had it should not be discriminated against. The persons, primarily from Santo Domingo Este and San Juan de la Maguana, gave testimony to their recovery.
