Once more into the (Metro) fray

With apologies to Alfred, Lord Tennyson, the Metro failed again yesterday. This time it was a computer glitch, according to the authorities. Leonel Carrasco, deputy director of the Transport Reorganization Office (OPRET) said that the computer problem was solved after a brief interruption of service on the Metro 1 line. Services came to a standstill from the first station (Mama Tingo) in Villa Mella as far as Station 11, Professor Juan Bosch on the corner of 27 Febrero and Maximo Gomez. Just recently a mechanical failure also brought many trains to a halt, and yesterday’s system failure caused many commuters to arrive late to their destinations, because the train car had to be moved out of the way, according to Listin Diario.
