Travelers between Santo Domingo and Madrid now have more options and this means more competition and better prices for travelers. Air Pullmantur will be flying on the route that is already covered by competitive Air Europa and traditional carrier Iberia.
Air Pullmantur has flown charter flights to the DR for the past nine years and now announces regular weekly flights on the Las Americas International Airport (SDQ) to Barajas, Madrid (MAD) route. Air Europa has proved a strong competitor to Iberia with its much-awaited seasonal off-peak specials and its flexible luggage policies. Iberia has a strong loyalty among OneWorld frequent flier club affiliation with American Airlines.
Air Pullmantur flies a 747-400 Jumbo on the route, known for seating room, shorter flying time on the route and large cargo capacity. Passengers will be allowed 64 kilos of luggage in addition to carry-on luggage, almost three times as much as the leading competitor.
