Despite repeated calls over the loudspeakers, the owners of two black bags left at the Gregorio Luperon International Airport remained unclaimed. The National Drug Control Department (DNCD) took 50 packages of cocaine weighing over 53 kilograms, distributed in two bags that were abandoned by persons unknown in the Gregorio Luperon International Airport, before their owners could leave the country. It was not possible to determine the identity of the owners because they did not have any of the baggage tickets that are used by the airlines. For this reason, says Diario Libre, nobody has been arrested in this case, according to a DNCD report, which says that the two black bags were left in the back part of the reception area of the terminal.
They were opened, said the agency, in the presence of magistrate Jose Martinez Montan, who produced the order for seizure, and as soon as it was processed the drugs were sent to Santo Domingo in order to be analyzed in the laboratory of the Attorney General of the Republic. The DNCD is looking for the owners of the bags.
