Cirque du Soleil’s Saltimbanco in Santo Domingo

Cirque du Soleil’s Saltimbanco show is on at the Palacio de los Deportes arena from 22-25 November. Tickets are RD$1,500, RD$3,000, RD$4,000 and RD$6,000. Created in 1992, Saltimbanco is a recreation of the longest-running Cirque du Soleil show that still continues to tour around the world.

The word Saltimbanco, literally “to jump on a bench” in Italian, is used to describe a street performer or entertainer. The show is about a fantastical urban environment where diversity is celebrated. The many characters are citizens of the city and represent different types of people in real life.? There are usually about eight acts in the show, including Adagio, Chinese poles, juggling, Boleadoras, Russian swing, Duo trapeze, hand to hand, and bungees. In addition, there will be a lot of acting and dancing typical of any Cirque du Soleil show. ?The schedule for Saltimbanco is: Thursday, 22 November 7:30pm, Friday 23 November 7:30pm, Saturday 24 November 3:30pm & 7:30pm, and Sunday 25 November 1pm & 5pm.
