Where tourists visiting the DR come from

Most tourists visiting the Dominican Republic are from the United States and Canada, reporting an increase of 188,809 tourists. A total of 45,228 more travelers came from South America. This counterbalanced the decline in travelers from Europe, with 30,522 fewer visitors. Traditional source markets such as the UK, Italy, Spain and Germany showed declines.

There were 159,174 more tourists from the United States. Next in the numbers of increases in tourists were Russia (33,852), Canada (26,838), Venezuela (18,209), Chile 8,944, Peru (6,789), Argentina (5,838), France (5,046), Colombia (4,730) and Brazil (3,857).
