Circus training gets better at Club Med

Circus training was one of the attractions at Club Med Punta Cana when it first opened to families in the 1980s. Now the program is getting better. Club Med has announced an alliance with Cirque du Soleil, the company that reinvented circus arts. Creactive by Cirque du Soleil will debut at the Club Med Punta Cana next June 2015. Guests will be taught many of the thrilling acrobatic feats that have made Cirque de Soleil’s shows so famous. The list of acrobatic experiences ranges from high bungee, flying trapeze, aerial silk, tightrope and trampoline to juggling, percussion and dance and mask painting.

“This partnership is a natural progression, stemming from the success and uniqueness of Club Med having provided circus instruction for over 25 years, and now with Cirque du Soleil’s 30 years of experience and know-how, this activity will have a new color,” said Cirque du Soleil president and CEO Daniel Lamarre.

“This new concept will leverage, for the benefit of Club Med guests, the expertise and knowledge of Cirque du Soleil, who are unrivalled innovators in the realm of circus artistry,” added Club Med’s Chairman and CEO, Henri Giscard d’Estaing. “It will also capitalize on the heritage and talent of Club Med in creating extraordinary memories in beautiful vacation destinations.”
