Dominican fencer two-month penalty to keep her out of Rio

An imposed two-month ban will keep Dominican fencer Rossy Felix from becoming the first Dominican fencer to participate in an Olympic Games.

She was prohibited from competing by the International Fencing Federation after being expelled from a competition in Panama last week after reportedly using foul language in a game and being insubordinate to a referee during a match at the tournament. The Dominican Olympic Committee and the Dominican Fencing Federation had sought a pardon for the penalty, but the petition was denied.
