The Dominican army has detained 376 Haitians who were trying to enter the Dominican Republic illegally. Colonel José Manuel Durán Infante, commander of the Fourth Army Brigade, based in Mao, said that they were detained in the communities of Santa María, Las Matas de Santa Cruz, in Montecristi, and La Vigía, Carbonera, in Dajabón.
He explained that in the operation, as well as the army, also participating were officers of the Navy, Air Force and the Specialized Corps of Border Security (Cesfront).
