Jose Ignacio Paliza, the president of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) and senator from Puerto Plata, has denounced corruption schemes amounting to billions of pesos. These schemes are connected to shadow companies whose listed associates are the chauffeurs of the real owners, according to Paliza.
The “strawmen” have purchased thermometers at three times the normal price, and they were not even for human use, according to the complaint. Paliza also called on the government to begin opening the nation, saying that if the government does not do it, the people will. He added that this is already happening. The PRM has already filed a formal complaint regarding the purchases carried out by the Ministry of Public Health.
