Dr. Mario Lama chosen to head the National Health Service (SNS)

President-elect Luis Abinader announced Dr. Mario Lama is his choice to direct the National Health Service. Dr. Lama is a graduate of the Iberoamerican University (Unibe) in 1992. He specialized in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1997, graduating from the medical programs at the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD) and the Central Hospital of the Armed Forces and Police where he was chief resident.

He has a private practice at the Centro de Obstetricia y Ginecología and the HS Medical Center. He is the president of the Dominican Society of Lower Genital Tract Pathology and Colposcopy.

He is best known for his participation in the radio health talk show, “Receta Médica de la Z” on Z101.3FM.
