The Association of Commercial Banks in the Dominican Republic (ABA) says its members will open on Saturdays 16 and 23 January until 12 noon. On Sundays 17 and 24 January the banks will not open. The announcement is a follow-up to the new mobility restrictions announced in Decree 7-21 by the Presidency
From Monday to Friday, banking will be available in some banks up to 5pm. Decree 7-21 orders all businesses to close at 5pm. People have three hours to get home.
ABA says customers need to check with their respective banks to ascertain opening and closing times of the banks that may vary. It says banking customers have access to banking services at all times via online banking.
