Good news: Dominicans keep sending home lots of US$

The Central Bank reports that remittances this year are keeping the upward numbers. A new record of US$994.9 million was set for March 2021. This is 91.3% more than in March 2020, or US$474.8 million more.
Remittances were US$792.8 million in January, US$761 million in February and US$994.9 million in March. Remittances for the first quarter of 2021 are 50% more than in 2020. This is outstanding because airports were not closed until the second half of March 2020.
