Curfew as of 14 July starts at 11pm

The Presidency issued Decree No. 432-21 that reduces another hour to the curfew. The Presidency had announced on 7 July 2021 the Plan for the Relaxation of Restrictive Covid-19 Measures with the gradual increase in night-time opening hours for businesses.

As of this Wednesday, 14 July 2021 and until the early morning of Wednesday, 21 July 2021, the following schedules will apply nationwide:

Curfew Monday through Friday from 11pm to 5am; while on Saturdays and Sundays it will be from 9pm to 5am. There is a two-hour free circulation from Monday to Friday (11pm to 1am), and on Saturdays and Sundays from 9pm to 11pm. The two-hour free circulation is for people to commute to where they will spend the night.

As of Wednesday, 14 July, the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages in public and private places of public use is allowed for the full regular curfew schedule. The measure is crucial for the sales of restaurants and bars.

The government issued the schedule for the following week, too. From Wednesday, 21 July and until the authorities announce a new change, the curfew schedule will be: Curfew every day from 11pm to 5am.
Free circulation every day from 11pm to 1am.

The Plan for the Relaxation of Restrictive Measures for COVID-19 contemplates the lifting of the curfew in municipalities when at least 70% of the respective population has received the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. It is expected that La Altagracia (Punta Cana) will be the first to meet this requirement.
