CNM to announce electoral higher court judges on 28 July

The National Council of the Magistracy (CNM) will meet on the evening of Wednesday, 28 July 2021 to decide on the five Superior Electoral Court judges and their alternates. Assessments were carried out and 76 candidates were interviewed.

The election of the judges would have been on 20 July, but was postponed.

The members of the CNM are President Luis Abinader (or Vice President Raquel Peña), the president of the Senate Eduardo Estrella, senator Bautista Rojas Gomez (PLD), the president of the Chamber of Deputies Alfredo Pacheco. Also, deputy Victor Fadul (PLD), the president of the Supreme Court of Justice Luis Henry Molina, Supreme Court of Justice judge Nancy Salcedo, and Attorney General Miriam German Brito. Antoliano Peralta, legal advisor to the President, is the spokesperson for the CNM.
