From 11 December 2021, Portugal’s TAP will fly three round trip flights a week between Portugal and the Dominican Republic, on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
The Punta Cana (PUJ) to Lisbon (LIS) flight is the second air link to Latin America TAP has opened this year. The first was the Lisbon-Cancun route that started on 27 March 2021. The flights bolster TAP’s competitiveness and its hub in Lisbon as an attractive option to fly from Europe to the Americas.
TAP is flying a modern Airbus A330neo-model that offers high comfort travel, less noise and the most advanced technology, including a cutting-edge in-flight entertainment and connectivity system.
The non-stop flights from Punta Cana (PUJ) to Lisbon start at US$281 each way. Economy fares to connecting destination start at US$247 to Paris, Barcelona and Rome.
On Fridays, the flight will depart Punta Cana at 10:50pm and arrive in Lisbon at 10:20am on the following morning. Return flights will depart Lisbon at 4:45pm and arrive in Punta Cana at 9:05pm. On Wednesdays and Saturdays, the flight will depart Punta Cana at 11:05 pm, arriving in Lisbon at 10:35 am the following day. Return flights will depart Lisbon at 5:00pm and arrive in Punta Cana at 9:20pm.
“Seat pitch in regular Economy is 31 inches, while EconomyXtra offers an additional three inches of leg room, for 34 inches of space. The A330-900neo has 168 seats in Economy and 96 in EconomyXtra,” the press release on the flight reads.
TAP’s business class on the flights offers 34 fully-flat reclining chairs that measure more than six feet when fully reclined. TAP’s business class seats include power outlets for both USB and individual plugs, headphone connections, individual reading lights and more space, including increased storage space.
