Feb. 3, 2007 - Catching up!

I've been reading some of my favorite blogs lately.

 

Trying to catch up with what I've missed.

 

It seems there's never enough time to do all one wants to do.

 

However, I've discovered I need to update my links.

 

Those of you who also read "Steps and Stories" will know that Carina is moving her blog. She has decided to make it a little easier to blog with added content since her blog contains so much more than just stories of the DR.

Jan. 29, 2007 - I'm FINALLY back!

Whew! It's been a while now hasn't it?

Thanks to those of you who faithfully watch this blog for new entries.

I've seen your visits on my 'counter'.

Now I've finally got a stable internet connection, the house is in order after our short sojourn before returning to Canada for Christmas and I'm over the horrible bronchitis I returned to the DR with.

It's been quite a ride since we headed home the end of April 2006!

Now I'm going to try to catch everyone up on what's new, what's old but left unfinished and what's interesting in the Juan Dolio area.

Sometimes life gets in the way of blogging!

Oct. 8, 2006 - Step Two....and a Surprize!

So before I get to Step Two I have a 'surprize' to tell you!

 

Actually the surprize was on us.

 

A week ago Friday our eldest son filed nomination papers for our local municipal elections.

 

He's running for city councilor!

 

I'd post a pic of his campaign sign but that would give away our name so I won't.

 

I  will tell you it's burgundy with white letters, a touch of grey and yellow for contrast.

 

Looks quite smart!

 

Now whether he was, for deciding to run at the last minute without any pre-planning, remains to be seen.

 

I'll let you know after the Nov. 13th election if he makes it!

 

Now I have a lot of work to do. I have worked on election campaigns in the past but I've never 'run' one before. Should be interesting!
