At the same time, those arriving in Playa Dorada will be able to park in a large area centrally equipped for 500 vehicles. A tramway will circulate among the hotels as of next season.

Pueblito Playa Dorada is part of the Playa Dorada 2005 proposal, with its location on a 30,000 square meter lot including 220 meters right on the beach between the Playa Dorada and Costa Dorada hotel complexes. The Pueblito Playa Dorada concept is owned and operated by a group of entrepreneurs that includes several hotel owners of the area.

Pueblito Playa Dorada was conceived as a Caribbean village marketplace with stores and restaurants, pedestrian streets, parks and sidewalks. Sergio Escarfullery, well-known for his hotel designs for Club Med in the Bahamas, Martinique and Turks & Caicos, and for Hemingway's Cafe in Playa Dorada, is the architect onboard. The simple construction of tin and thatched roofs, walls of palm slats and other local woods was designed to be especially adaptable to the needs of the 123 shops envisioned.'

This new commercial area will house the Quisqueya Museum, conceived by historian Danilo de los Santos, also a native of Puerto Plata, to celebrate island life and its origins, geology and history. The museum will explore as far back as pre-Hispanic times and demystify the three-blooded composition of Dominican people from their Native Indian, Spanish and African ancestry.

El Pueblito will also feature a 2,000-seat auditorium to host international festivals and concerts.
