ABOUT THIS ISSUE'S PHOTOGRAPHER

Polibio Diaz is a photographer from the Dominican Republic Currently he is Cultural Ambassador assigned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. His works have been widely exhibited in Europe, the United States, and Asia. He began his studies of photography at Texas A & M University, where he took a degree in Civil Engineering. His extensive oeuvre has been collected in the books: Scarecrows of the South, 1994; Images of Carnival, 1993; and An Island, a Landscape, 1998.

The photographs of Mr. Diaz were included in 100 years of Photography, 1899-1999: A Personal Vission of the 20th Century", an exhibition organized by the Discovery Museum, Bridgeport, Connecticut USA, in 1999-2000.
