If you have rapelling gear, bring it with you. If not, the guides will have it all worked
out with a system of ropes. These ropes come in handy if there has been no rain
and the water in certain places is too shallow for jumping. If you are making your
way from top to bottom, it will be more fun if it has been raining and the river levels
are high among the cave crevasses.
Able swimmers will have the most entertainment, as there are stretches of approxi-
mately 25 meters that need to be swum, but those who can doggy-paddle will be
fine, too. There aren’t any waves, just calmly flowing, crystal-clear river waters.
Prepare to get wet on the first plunge and dry off as you trek to the next. The cool
water will refresh you after your hike.
You should choose clothing that fares well in water and out. Consider wearing a
bathing suit underneath quick-drying, lightweight clothes. Depending on the time of
the year, the water may be cold by tropical standards. Regardless, leave your towel
behind. You will want to travel as light as you can. Hikers will warm up in the sun
while proceeding to the next fall.
