The Hostal Zapata is a family owned and run facility located directly on the white sands of Boca Chica beach.
Possibly the most unique beach of the Dominican Republic, due to the fact that it is the biggest crystal clear natural water lagoon of the Caribbean, where the waters do not exceed a depth of 4 feet, and you can literally see your feet through the water. The beach is protected by a large natural coral reef, which safeguards it from waves and large fish.

On the beach you may find numerous water sports and activities available such as Scuba diving, cave diving, Jet Skiing, water skiing, volleyball etc.

The Zapata Hotel is a perfect destination for those tourists who require comfort, relaxation and a desire to get in touch with real Dominican culture, customs, dances, food and people. Allowing and orientating their guest on the best ways, locations, and areas available to interact with the Natives makes the Zapata a better fit for many, as opposed to large impersonal all inclusive establishments. Its facility is equipped with 22 well-furnished, air-conditioned, cable TV rooms. All of them outfitted with their own private security deposit box, some with balconies some without. The rooms are divided into three categories:

a) Two separate bedroom apartment, capable of fitting from 2-6 people.
b) two room studios (all in one) capable of fitting from 1-4 people.
c) standard rooms capable of fitting from 1-3 people.

The restaurant specializes in typical Dominican Creole cuisine as well as numerous sea foods. For those who are tired of being constrained to eat indoors because of bad weather, this restaurant offers you the chance to sample its specialties and other International dishes, served in a relaxed outdoor atmosphere; where you can literally hand feed the local birds.

On the property right before the actual beach there is a typical palm leaf roof bar, where most guests relax sipping on tropical cocktails before and after their journeys in the water or just sunbathing on the sand. In the vicinity of the bar there are several natural palm leaf umbrellas with numerous lounge chairs for sun tanning and stress releasing. Professional beach masseuses make their rounds in this area.

There is also a Barbecue Grill available for any private barbecues or activities that guest may be interesting in engaging. Also, for those guests who try to keep toned and not gain too many calories over the vacation, the Zapata offers a small “keep toned up” gym.

For the busy executive, there is a direct fax, Internet and e-mail connection to keep you in touch with the office back home. Extremely convenient for those who are traveling for business purposes, and do not enjoy staying in big, noisy, and overpopulated cities. Hostal Zapata is only a short ten kilometer trip from Santo Domingo's airport: “Las Americas” and conveniently located 20 minutes from the capital: Santo Domingo.
It is also located in a strategic geographic location between Santo Domingo and San Pedro de Macoris. The two most populated and developed provinces of the East Cost of the island.
