Hospiten is a private Spanish hospital group with over 1,000 beds in major cities and tourist resorts in Spain, Dominican Republic and Mexico, and a team of over 2,000 people caring for over 400,000 patients a year.
All our Hospiten centres have been audited and certified by AENOR, and they have all obtained the European ISO 9001:2000 standard Quality Certificate. The UNE-EN ISO 14001environmental management standard has also been implemented.

Hospiten Bavaro
Strategically located in Playa Bavaro, Hospiten Bavaro was the first hospital of the Hospiten Network to be built outside of Spain. Opened in 2000, this centre has the very latest medical and surgical technology. It has 70 in-patient beds, four operating theatres, blood bank, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Haemodialysis Club, bio-pathology and micro-biology laboratory, remote controlled and conventional X-Ray unit, mobile C Arch, Scanner and mobile X-Ray equipment.
Hospiten Santo Domingo
Hospiten Santo Domingo opened in 2003, with the very latest medical technology for both diagnosis and treatment. It is currently one of the best clinics in the country with an extensive range of specialities and medical services.
This centre has 58 in-patient beds, five operating theatres, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Neo-natal Intensive Monitoring Unit, delivery room, Haemodialysis Unit, out-patient department, emergency room, laboratory and X-Ray unit.
The Hospiten Dialysis Club
Our experience and commitment to treating haemodialysis patients led us to create the Hospiten Dialysis Club.
Hospiten’s Haemodialysis units have modern “Fresenius” monitors with programmable ultra-filtration, sodium profiles and dialysis with bi-carbonate, using the double needle procedure.
The stations are far enough apart to guarantee privacy. We place patients on comfortable chairs with electric controls, pleasant views, air conditioning and television with channels in a range of different languages.
Clinic Assist
In 2003, the Hospiten Group created a new concept in health service provision. Entitled “Clinic Assist”, and with the support of Hospiten, a new project has emerged that has now translated into an extensive network of medical surgeries aimed at providing a response to out-patient medical needs in the areas in which we maintain a presence.
This project brings us closer to our clients and, hence makes our service far more immediate. This way, we can offer enhanced security for residents and tourists alike, as we are providing high quality medical services in these areas.
With a carefully selected team of professional doctors and nursing staff, Clinic Assist offers medical laboratory and radiology services, home or hotel care, programmed transfers, ambulance service and emergency service 24 hours a day.
In the Dominican Republic, this network of doctor’s surgeries encompasses towns like Bavaro, Juan Dolio, Boca Chica and Puerto Plata.
