Can anyone report on the effects of hurricane Dean on the eastern part of DR (Punta Cana/Bavaro)?? Wind gusts or just lots of rain??

Moving to Bavaro (Los Corales area) in September when new condo is built. Its only a few miles from the new mall and the future Hard Rock cafe. Looking for anyone that lives there now that can give me info regarding area (especially beach areas, local restaurants, etc.). Thank you.
