From the Autopista Las Americas, get off at Ave Charles de Gaulle and go north (away from the ocean, or pa' arriba).

If you are coming on the autopista from the north (Santo Domingo), there will be a big Texaco station with a Pollos Victorina on the right side, and the exit to go north is just past the bridge (Puente de Espa?a) overhead.

If you are coming from the airport side, the exit is just before the Puente de Espa?a, the first overpass bridge as you are coming into Santo Domingo. There are good signs for Ave Charles de Gaulle, just be in the right hand lane so you can turn off. There may or may not be a lot of traffic here as many guaguas and publicos pick people up by the bridge.

Stay on Charles de Gaulle, going up a hill and continuing. The road is straight, and it's a major street, boulevard style. You will come to a major intersection with the autopista San Isidro, about 2 miles from Las Americas. On the right side before the intersection is a large furniture store with a lot of visible patio-type furniture.

TURN RIGHT, (or east) and you are on the Autopista San Isidro- not really an autopista, but a very busy street. If you are coming there at night, it will look like Las Vegas for the next mile or so from all of the caba?as neon signs. Unless you really know the area, San Isidro is basically a dead end street (ends for most purposes at the Air Base) about 5 or 6 miles long.

Lately, there is heavy contruction at the entrance to Charles DeGaulle from Las Americas, making this exit onto Charles DeGaulle impossible.

About 200 meters before the exit for Charles DeGaulle, look for a little exit road on the right, and take it. Drive north through the residencial area and begin heading west when you can. This will take you to Charles DeGaulle. After on Charles DeGaulle, follow ElForastero's directions.

When you reach the intersection of the autopista Autopista San Isidro and Charles de Gaulle you can go left or right. To the right are the caba?as, a zona franca and at the end the air base.

To the left is a long stretch that eventually crosses the autopista las Americas.
