Is there a way of getting from highway 14 to highway 132 without going thru downtown Moca? Google earth and my GPS show this but on closer examination it seems to be a 4wd road or one that requires fording a stream.

google has route 14 labled wrong....Juan Pablo Duarte from santiago through Licey Al Medio into Moca...

IS ROUTE 14!!

if you are going to, or past San Fransisco De Macoris....you might be better off going rte 1 to la vega and route 19 to SFDM...much SMOOTHER ride..and maybe even faster...even though it is longer

I keep telling you people, nobody in the DR uses route numbers. This is not california or New Jersey for cripes sake!! Where do you want to go?

Most people will go down the Duarte Highway to the SFM overpass and go into San Frnacisco. EOS.

Now if they are going to places like Salcedo or Tenares, the you need to turn to the left at the top of the hill after you get to Moca. You go down a little ways, there is a stoplight, and then you go up a little to the corner of the Fortaleza/Jail. There is where you turn left and follow your nose to Salcedo. You do not go through the middle of Moca.

Sheesh!

Totally right.
If yo ask any dominican in the road for route 14 or 19, they will think you are crazy.
