I am moving end of month to DR from Playa del Carmen Mexico. Looks live Bavaro area. Working in dive industry.
I am wondering if super markets in the DR stock the ranges of US products our supermarkets here in the Yucatan do.
We have a Wal-Mart here, is there an equivalent style store in DR?
I'm English, but have been living in Mexico for over 3 years so rely on US products rather than European, as they don't exsist over here, or if they do are super expensive.
Am concerned I won't find my Clinique moisturiser in DR, should I buy 5 litres before I arrive?
Is there any essentials I won't be able to find?
For example, most of my kitchen equipment has been imported from US to Mexico, decent cooks knives, pepper mills, stainless pans etc...
I cook a lot of Thai food, are there places I can buy good quality provisions or are they expensive and only in the city??
Many thanks for any help or suggestions, I am really excited about my move, however my husband is concerned about my luggage containing everything except the kitchen sink....
