There is a monument you can tour; areas surrounding it are quite interesting. I enjoyed walks in the center. You can work out at the Gold's gym, then go shopping and eat in the same center.

By far the best hotel is the Gran Almirante.
Then you have Aloha Sol, and another one down town with a casino across the steet, It used to be Hotel Santiago Camino Real but it has another name nos. Calle Mella.

Hotel Jardines is new, clean and less expensive.

If you do a search of Night life. clubs in Santiago. You should get a long list of places to go...Bars, Clubs and eateries are great in Santiago.

Dress properly, this is not a tourist city. Jeans/khakis, T-shirt or polo shirt is fine. shoes not flip flops...

Have fun!!

What he said, though I'd add Hodelpa Gran Centro is nice, close to everything, cheaper than Gran Almirante yet owned by the same company (which means you get access to their very nice pool area.)

Pez Dorado for seafood, Kukaramakara for fun barbeque (it's got a serious western motif going on), Paraiso del Sol for drinks, Ahi Bar for watching the crowds.

That should keep you entertained until 10 or so. :glasses:

You're close enough to Jarabacoa to consider a day trip out there. It's a LOT of fun if you're the outdoorsy type.

Have fun.

For discos/clubs... do a search on the following, they are the hottest/trendiest clubs in Santiago:

MoMa
Camus
Tribeca
Over Lounge
Francifol
Ahi
Dubai

...and if your gf is really open-minded:
Pasion
Ilusion
Casa Blanca
:bunny:

If you stay in the hotel Hillbilly mentioned, Los jardines...or the Gran Almirante, you are walking distance to dozens of restaurants, cafes, boutiques, and two of the clubs on the list above (Over Lounge and Camus).
