Hi
Here for just a few days with my girlfriend and we've booked a whale sighting tour. Can anyone suggest the best time for viewing whales? The guide said itdidn't matter. Thanks!

When I did whale watching many years ago, I didn't really notice that the time of the day would make a difference.

But I remember the weather was usually much better in the morning and the ocean was calmer, too.

Also when the sun is lower the light is better both for photography and visibility.

I did the morning trip and was very, very happy, especially after seeing the ocean in the afternoon. The wind got up quite a bit.

I'd recommend signing up for the morning. If the water looks really rough, ask if you can wait for the afternoon to see if it calms down.
