I'm flying to San Juan, PR by the end of this month for a 3 day stay.
Since I come up from Puerto Plata and will come back with my kids whom I will meet up with in PR, I intend to travel from POP to STI with my car and leave it parked at or near the airport.
Is there SAFE parking available for 3 days and where?

Thanks! ... J-D.

HB:
That's very generous of you (as always).
It's a Toyota Hilux pickup truck (customized like the one that was rolled over 3 yeas ago.).
I would not want to impose.
I will be flying out Thursday June 30th and coming back (with 2 o my kids) Saturday July 2nd. It's an afternoon flight (AA).

David:
Is the long term parking IN the terminal?
Safety: I am not so concerned about the whole vehicle being stolen, but about parts missing when I come back.
I am in the habit of leaving it inside Metro (bus) parking when I go to Santo Domingo for a day or two... that one's guarded, I know the "watchie" and he knows me, my vehicle and my tipping habits; it's never been touched (actually one, they washed it). But obviously, I can't leave it there. But similarly, I was hoping for a GUARDED parking at the airport.

Thanks! ... J-D.

It is inside the terminal area. When you enter, tell the guard at the entrance you want to park for 3 days....he will escort you to the lot...it's an immediate right as you pass the guard's booth, very close to the terminal. You do a condition check (like when you rent a car) you both sign the sheet and he gives you a copy. The lot is separately gated and locked. When you return, go to the guard's booth, give him the sheet and you go over the car, making sure there's nothing wrong or missing...you sign off and go to the exit and pay...very simple and very secure...

Yeah make sure you park in the unmarked long term lot and not anywhere in the regular lot, because they will charge you RD$500 per night if you don't.

Thursday 30 June is fine with me as long as the flight is before 6 in the afternoon. I have a class at 6.

Saturday is also fine. I have no plans for that date. just give me a call and you have a safe, free place to park. Not that I have any doubts about the airport, Santiago is well organized...at least I hope so..
