Traffic in Santo Domingo East-West and viceversa in Ave. 27 de Febrero has improved considerably over the last few days, all thanks to the opening of the 2 new open tunnels.
Friday 4:30pm from the entrance to Santo Domingo (Puente Juan bosch) to Ave. Caonabo 11mins
Thursday 7pm, just 12 mins.
Few months ago, it was over 2 hours.
In John F. Kennedy is doing much better too, but there are still some construction with line 2 of Metro and some other overpass.

This is a positive report as PJT really does not like the stress of having to wait in traffic in his attempts to maneuver the streets of capital.

Now, what can be done to free up Maximo Gomez of its congestion ? Because, in my belated review it would have been a great idea to include construction of a thru traffic tunnel for cars and light vehicles alongside the Metro during its construction.

Regards,

PJT--they can eliminate the carros publicos and commercial trucks from Maximo Gomez during the day . That would drop traffic 60%.

People coming from all neighborhoods around john F kennedy till Los Acarrizos are using Conchos instead of the Metro when they arrive in Maximo gomez, to go to Utesa, Apec and The American Consulate. because is too close and easier, and anyway the have to pay again.
when the 2nd Line of Metro is open. all those students will just transboard and use the Line 1 of Metro with the same ticket.
Also The consulate is moving to Arroyo Hondo, so that will help too. Conchos will be reduced considerably by next year in Maximo Gomez.
