Saona Island villagers to get solar energy at last
Santo Domingo. – Before the end of March Saona Island’s inhabitants will have a mini solar power plant to replace the electrical plants that use fossil fuels.The Environment Ministry’s Climatic Change Department unveiled the long awaited investment yesterday, through its Renewable Energy Department.The project aims to improve the living conditions in the island village of Mano Juan, separated by more than 40 kilometers from the nearest mainland town, Bayahibe, and protect the surrounding environment in the protected area, part of the National Park of the East. http://www.dominicantoday.com/dr/to...-Island-villagers-to-get-solar-energy-at-last
