Lost my license recently can i still rent a car?

I recently lost my license but im headed to DR Sunday and i didnt have enough time to get one reissued, however my license is valid and i do remember the liscense #, will i still be able to rent a car in Cibao with my passport?

I would very much doubt it, but I'm only ever 99.9% correct! You might find some cowboy outfit but I doubt you'll get insurance that will cover you well.

Speaking of car rental I was shocked last week after my brother in law had an accident with a gringo in a rentacar and the company paid out for his repairs within 2 weeks. I only have half the story at the moment so could be other factors but that seems a damn good result!
