I am crossing the border from Haiti to the DR at Jimani. Is it possible to take a local bus from Jimani directly to Pedernales, without having to go all the way to Barahona? Do they leave from the same station? Thanks!

There is no direct service from Jimani to Pedernales. You will need to take a van from Jimani to Barahona, and from there get on a minibus to Pedernales. The "bus station" for Jimani to Barahona is street side on the corner across from the Western Union on the road leaving Jimani towards Barahona. You will need to take a motorcycle taxi from the border to get on the van. Let the driver know that you need to be dropped off at the Parada for Pedernales, it is located in Barahona streetside next to the BanReservas that is downtown.

Just to be clear, neither of these locations have any kind of station, the buses/vans are just parked along the side of the road. You get in and will pay either the driver or an assistant once you are underway.
