Edenorte Generator Problem in Puerto Plata

I understand there is a problem with a generator in Puerto Plata being out of service. Anyone have information on how bad it is and when it might be back on line?

Power is back on. During my calls I heard it was everything from the generator, to a transformer to a transmission line. One of those was probably correct.

We spoke to one of the engineers who is contracted to Edenorte and has been here a few times to 'fix' things and he confirmed the unusually long outage was due to a fault with a generator in Puerto Plata.

He said he hoped power would be restored by noon - actually came back on about 2.20 pm and, as yet, has remained on although one of the scheduled outages today for this circuit was from 2 pm - 7 pm.

we have had a 7 hour outage of thursday... and since then, we experience frequent outages of 10 to 20 minutes during the evening and night...

a real pain in tha ass....

oh well, elections are over... so this is for the next 3 1/2 years?
