Rent a car and drive it to Haiti.

Hello all,

Does somebody know for sure if I can rent a car from Santiago de los Caballeros and drive it to Haiti. If yes where? (direction, phone number etc..)

I asked several people on the street, some people said yes but were unable to give more information and some said no.

I have been to several rental companies, they all said no.

Would you rent your car to someone to drive to Haiti? Of course not! The rental companies may be a bit shady but they are not stupid.

I would not do it although I rented a car one time and crossed it over to nuevo laredo Mexico for a few hours of fun, but it wasnt Haiti.

Even if you found some company/someone to rent you a car for this trip if anything were to happen to the car even the smallest of issues it will cost you.

Rental cars will not be allowed into Haiti. I believe the owner of the vehicle needs to be present to be allowed to drive into Haiti. Also your Dominican insurance will not cover the car there. You will need to get a special attachment to be covered in Haiti.
