Diary, calendar and exhibition launched
Leading paint company Pinturas Tropical launched its 2013 diary and calendar in Santo Domingo yesterday evening, Tuesday 11 December. The theme of the new calendar and diary is the classic poem by the late Dominican national poet Pedro Mir, "Hay un pais en el mundo" (There is a Country in the World) illustrated by evocative photographs by Pedrito Guzman and with a cover portrait of the poet by Fernando Urena Rib. The project was coordinated by cultural promoter Veronica Sencion on the occasion of the centenary of the poet's birth. Jose Anibal Peralta, Marketing Director of Pinturas Tropical, reiterated the company's ongoing support for culture, the arts and artists during the last few years. During the launch, the company representative presented the poet's widow, Sra. Carmen Mesejo, with the first copy of the diary.
The ceremony, which took place at La Rotonda Salon in the Palace of Bellas Artes, also included the launch of an exhibition of Pedro Guzman's photographs which will be open to the public until 15 January 2013. Open from 10am to 4pm.
Also present at the event were Jose Luis Corripio Estrada (Don Pepin), Jose Alfredo Corripio, Vice-President of Pinturas Tropical, Brand Manager Martha Arias, Sales Manager Jorge Rivas, Sales Director Guillermo Gutierrez, and family members of the late Pedro Mir.
