She went out of her apartment to buy a cold drink (Pepsi, Coca Cola and such types - people in the Midwestern USA refer to cold drinks as pop, I learned that the hard way a long time ago; lol), but then she noticed the smoke and thought someone was barbecuing. Then she noticed that it was a fire and she ran as fast as she could without taking anything. The smoke was beginning to irritate her lungs and she had been suffering from bronchitis since before the fire which probably made her bronchitis worst. Then she said that she doesn't have time for that.

I guess she implied that it was just too much BS for one day.
