X-Ray Machine Harmful?

Where I come from people hardly get x-rays. But if you want to keep your residency in the Dominican Republic you are subjected to x-rays every two years for the rest of your life. Where can I find assurances that this procedure over time like this is either harmless or hurtful? I am sure lots of us would like to know.

I wouldn't worry about it. One CT scan is the equivalent of about a zillion xrays. [slight exaggeration]

Then I guess I'm doomed.I had a few CT scans.:cross-eye

for the love of god. the dose of radiation is minimal, about the same as you'd get from a flight from USA to DR.

damn, people should be worried about their daily activities and how they influence general health, not about occasional medical procedures. even bananas are radioactive. i'm sure you'd get more radiation is a year from bananas that from an x-ray...
