Don't know. But the Rough Guide has in the past been the best you can get for the DR. No sugar coating, and correct.

The Rough Guides are an excellent series for budget travellers, similar to Lonely Planet. One of the founders is friend of a friend: I remember him saying that when they were planning to launch the US editions they planned to call them "Real Guides" because Americans would not respond well to "Rough Guides".

I bought both the Rough Guide and the Lonely Planet Guides to the DR. The Rough Guide is more complete, but the Lonely Planet Guide includes a section on Haiti. Neither gives nearly as many hotels as the Let's Go Guide to Ecuador, which is the best guide I have seen so far.
