I got mine at Directa TV here in SD, they are Solaris Gel batteries, no maintenance, and best if you plan to keep them indoors. Little more expensive but last twice the time.

The Dominican on line yellow pages don't have a listing for Directa TV.

Can you mention the price paid, voltage and amp-hour rating of the Solaris batteries?

225 AH Trojan T 105 wet cell lead acid batteries are $5.750 RD (they pay $750 RD per battery for old batteries in trade for new Trojan batteries) at LH International.

A few places on emarket.com.do are selling the t105 for around 4700 last time i checked. Supposedly free delivery and give around 700 for your old batteries.. never used any of them but as soon as i have a spare couple hundred dollars i'll definitely be trying one of those places out.

The reason why I normally use LH International for batteries is that they are a major importer of batteries into the DR and have batteries that are recently manufactured. LH supplies many other smaller battery resellers. Saving a few pesos for batteries that have been on the shelf for more than a couple of months could cost you more on the long run.

850 is a good street price for used batteries. Thank you for pointing that out.

Price in the street for scrap inverter batteries is RD$850.00
Any idea on the price these days for 4 "totally had" Trojan 105's?
What would a used inverter for 4 Batteries on the street be worth? Thanks anyone. We are downsizing!!!

You don't get much for used inverters, people don't wanna buy them. Compra, vente might give you a few mil if it is a make and half decent condition. Inverters are bought new on credit/finance to your average working class dom, poorer than that don't have them and wealthier than that working class gap is wealthy enough to buy new, so there is little value to anyone. You'd be best off keeping it as a spare or payback if someone ever helps you out of a mess.

We sold our bad batteries for 1000 pesos each, but it was a trade in. I think the going price is 800 pesos usually.

We bought our 3kw inverter and 4 batteries new from a company in Santo Domingo. Sometimes the batteries didn't hold up during long outages, mostly because our big fridge was running on them. An American couple was leaving DR, had an 1.5 kw inverter and 4 six-volt red trojan batteries that were less than 6 months old, we paid $300 for the inverter and batteries. We hooked that one up to the house [lights, fans, computer, etc.] and left the big one for the fridge/freezer.

Thanks HUG and AE.
I'm here in FL and the Wifey, though well educated----. Yeah, I cautioned her about running to the Compra Vende before knowing some value. Her family is now all in the Campo.
She and her brother, took a course and built this inverter. Before the house had a surge protector, something got toasted in the inverter and it was rebuilt by Wally's.
If a Compra Vende will give her 3 mil I'd be ok????

Depends on condition, size, and Brand.
Impossible to answer your question.
Used batteries do bring around 800 pesos at a recycling center.
