Who can suggest me a decent place to stay for the night in Jarabacoa for tomorrow night for the five of us (me, wife and three children). Could be a hotel, hostel, guesthouse, anything not too expensive, but clean and decent.

Tim and family are very nice people, and their guesthouse and apartments are in a good location, in a safe neighbourhood. Needs to update the photos an his website though.
I like the Grand Jimenoa - nice grounds, adequate pool and rooms, decent food.

Pinar Dorado is walking distance to the center of town. Take a taxi back as it is a long steady uphill climb. Taxi rate is 100 pesos hotel to town center or bus depot.

You are right, nothing has changed in Jarabacoa. I spent the weekend in Jarabacoa a few weeks ago, same small town. Here is a pic from the balcony at Hotel Gran Jimenoa (pic is from 3 or 4 years ago).

No need for A/C at night I guess :cheeky:

Fun- that would be up to you to decide.
Safe- there is an element of risk, that's part o the fun.
They are professional and know what there doing. CB's wife did a tandem trip and she enjoyed it. I think he posted the video on here somewhere.

Hotel Brisas del Yaque ll 809 574 4490 was $1250 for a standard room with hot shower, internet access breakfast included. Ask for room on parking lot side as opposite side can be noisy. Walking distance to central park and resturants and bus station.
